I’ve had a great experience with ABC. The workers showed up on time and they were efficient. They paid attention to the little things— even things i didnt think of! Will definitely recommend to others.

ABC Painting Group & Construction, 7770 Old Seward Hwy, Anchorage, AK 99518, (907) 336-8484, was hired to prepare and paint our house exterior body and trim. They did not complete the work, neither the preparation nor the painting, per the contract. When asked about the work, it was weeks before they scheduled a time to walk around the house. When they did schedule a visit, from the time they arrived, they behaved unprofessionally, appearing agitated and angry. They began by telling us the paint looked great and then began bullying us by denigrating us and the house, accusing us, and threatening us. They did dismissively paint a few missed spots and did grudgingly caulk and paint a few other minor areas, again cutting corners on the preparation and painting. They refused to complete other preparation and painting that would have taken more time and said that they would put a lien on the house if they were not paid immediately. All this within about half an hour of ringing the doorbell. An independent professional licensed painter was contacted to inspect the work and found it to be more incomplete than complete and of poor quality. Due to the incomplete nature and poor quality of the work done by ABC Painting Group, a new contractor will need to be hired at significant additional cost to complete the preparation and painting, having to undo and redo much of the work done by ABC Painting Group in many areas. In hindsight, I would not hire ABC Painting Group and urge anyone considering hiring ABC Painting Group to stay far away from them. If you do decide to get a quote from them, educate yourself on painting best practices. Be sure to meet them at the house when they visit to do the cost estimate and discuss and document in detail what work will be done. If you decide to hire them, be sure the work to be done is described in detail in the contract, and be sure to be present to observe and document each phase of the work done (or not done) so that you have the evidence you may need later in court. If they insist otherwise, you will know to stay away. If they try to reassure you by quoting their guarantee, remember it is of little value if it is limited in scope, the quality of work is poor, and the company will not take responsibility. It would appear that the painters take no pride in their work and the company has no interest in fulfilling its contractual obligations or in customer satisfaction.

I have a 4-plex in Anchorage and I've hired ABC to paint multiple units and the entire building exterior. The quality of their work is outstanding and very competitive pricing. The employees are also very nice. It's a great family run business. You won't find better so give them a call.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! They did the bare minimum, cutting corners as much as possible, had to return 7 times to do the job and still didn't do it right, actually costing me more money and looks worst than it did. They painted the wrong color on the doors and then closed them while they were wet so that messed up the paint and ripped off the weather stripping. They flooded my flooring in the inside after power washing around the doggy door and they slapped on some paint on my railing around my deck and that looks so crappy, they claimed to have put 2 coats on it but there is no way they did.... it looks horrible and there's places they missed all over the place. Then when I wanted to express my dissatisfaction the lady met me at my house and was very rude, wouldn't even listen to my concern. Made excuses for everything, not even willing to compromise by adding an extra coat on the deck railing just threatened me to pay up or she will report me for non-payment. Very bad attitude and bad customer service. I WILL NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE AGAIN!!!!! Worse "professional" job I've ever had to pay for!!!! I don't know how they can take pride in their work.

They were fine.

Our realtor gave us a few painting contractors to check out. ABC is who we decided to go with. They were to paint 1380 sqft living space, as well as the trim. Much of the sprayer work was good. The detail work was poorly done. The taping was not well done in many trim corners, and many baseboards are uneven. Spaces that required brushwork (like between a door frame and the thermostat) were blotchy with missing spots. One door frame is missed. They also missed a walk in closet entirely. On one corner they crunched their own work on the way out the door. The worst of it is they did an extremely poor job of cleaning up after themselves. Dried paint on every bathroom mirror, every sink fixture and a ring of paint in every tub. Even the kitchen sink was covered in paint. Some of the laminate floors had paint spots, and the front entry carpet did too, and so did the fireplace tiles and vents. They also lost one of our valence covers for the blinds (where the heck am I going to find a replacement for that thing?). It is as if they just quit for the day in mid-cleanup and decided to not come back. Still waiting for them to come back and touch up as they promised... They said they would come 'tomorrow' - for over a week now. My realtor has been reminding them daily. Unfortunately, we don't have a say in paying them - as the realtor is the go between. If I did, I would knock off 15% due to failure in the details - and for losing the valance to my blinds.

They gave us a quote quickly and advised us on paint quality. They did a great job and 1 year later a few inches on a trim board needed touched up and they came out and repainted it.

Fast and cost effective. They did quality work. I would use them again without hesitation.

They were fast with a quote, the least expensive of all 3 quotes I received and came highly recommended by 3 different people I knew that used them. They were easy to work with and when I added the deck on last minute, to be cleaned and stained, they did it with no hesitation.

They are fast and efficient but the quality of work is not what I prefer. They tend to be extremely messy with overspray and don't spend to much time on the details. I inspected the work while they were still painting and found they had painted over built in drawers while they were shut and they had to go back and cut them loose and touch up the paint work. There were drip marks running down the wall that I made them go back and fix as well. I'm not sure what it is about the paint they use, but it always seems to look ok upon inspection but coming back a few months later it looks like it is thin and you see discolorations coming through. After reinspecting the painted unit 5 months later, I still see this same issue even with the primer coat - if, in fact, the primer was even done.

The estimator gentlemen is very nice. No problems with him. The employees who did the power wash were excellent. The painters were sloppy The foreman of the job was the problem. He was rude and condescending when asked to fix drips and runs and any time we had a question or comment. I must say we started on the wrong foot at the beginning of the job as I thought they were not doing the prep caulking correctly. That was resolved but the foreman held a grudge and was not pleasant to communicate with at all He complained that our house took more paint than was estimated. He refused to paint the back door, which was included in the bid. But by this point I just wanted him gone. Month later I found bubbling paint spots. Called the company and was told someone would come repair it in a few days. No one came. Over the next two months I called 5x and was told they would get back with me. Now it's too cold so we will just fix it ourselves next Spring it seems!

Painted the interiors of two apartments after tenants had moved out. The best way to describe their work is and quot;quick and none too tidyand quot;. They did some kitchen cabinet installation that was a disaster. I had to work to get them to return and do it over. If I use them again it would be strictly for painting.

Pros: (1) They provided an estimate very promptly including a 5% military discount. Pretty decent price. I had one cheaper estimate but the other company didn't use as high a quality a paint. (2) Very professional and used high quality Sherwin Williams paint. (3) Recaulked all windows after higher power wash. Scraped and sanded where needed. Taped off entire house where necessary. (4) Overall very good paint job, some trim areas needed extra touch ups, probably because we had white painted over a dark color. They left me some paint also in case I needed to do any future touch ups. Negatives: (1) They didn't really schedule a day to come. They just showed up unannounced and said they were going to start painting. (2) I sent them plans on how I wanted the house painted but they didn't read them. So on the day of, I had to explain to them what I wanted which made me a little nervous. Most of the workers don't speak perfect English, so communication was a little rough at times. (3) A little discrepancy on the final bill. There was a little miscommunication and the final bill had an additional fee for something that was not finalized In writing. They called me promptly, however, to discuss and square things away.

They have a very good price and punctual. They do a very good job.
