When it comes to crafting your dream bedroom, organization is key. Plus, when your bedroom is clear of clutter, you’ll probably feel more at ease. Use the following hacks for keeping your laundry off the floor and bookshelf perfectly neat.

1. Take Advantage of Under-Bed Storage

If you have a bed with space underneath, use it! This is a great way to store shoes, out-of-season clothing, craft supplies, or old moving boxes. The best part? This space is totally out of sight, so it doesn’t have to be perfectly organized.

2. Hang a Laundry Basket

Maybe you want to clear your floor space, or perhaps you’d rather have your laundry basket somewhere out of sight.

A hanging laundry basket is a great way to reduce dirty jeans and sweaters that can pile up on your bedroom floor. You can hang the basket in your closet to increase your floor space, or you can hang it on the wall. Or, you can decide to hang it in the bathroom if you tend to make a clothes pile on the bathroom floor.

3. Create Labeled Baskets

It can be frustrating to search and search for that one notebook that you can never find. But if you store everything in a labeled container, finding exactly what you’re looking for will be a breeze. You can use them for anything—office supplies, accessories, extra bed linens, etc.

3. Use a Bag Rack or Hanger

Sometimes there’s simply no space to put all your fabulous bags. If this sounds like you, consider setting up a bag rack or hanger to create a space specifically for storing your totes and purses. This way, you won’t have to settle on just shoving them in the closet or tossing them on a chair. Plus, using a bag rack is a great way to achieve top-notch closet organization

5. Hang Over-the-Door Organizers

Do you have too many shoes for a rack? An over-the-door organizer might be the answer to your shoe storage woes.

With this type of organizer, you can organize basically any item that’s cluttering up your bedroom. And if you’re the type of person who likes as much as possible to be out of sight, you can even hang the organizer on the inside of the closet door—and voila!

6. Implement Corner Shelves

If your wall space is lacking, a corner shelf can help you use what you’ve got and store what you need. They fit right into the little nook and are the perfect solution for your excess books, framed photos, and trinkets.

7. Utilize a Bedside Pocket Organizer

Instead of stacking your to-be-read pile on your nightstand, use a bedside pocket organizer. With this, you can store all your books, magazines, and dream journals within an arms reach—and without causing clutter.

8. Get a Trash Bin

It can be incredibly easy to ignore the papers, wrappers, and empty water bottles that accumulate in your bedroom. But when you find yourself pushing months-old receipts out of your way, it might be time to consider a different approach.

Keeping a trash bin in your bedroom is one of the simplest ways to get more organized. When you have it right there, you won’t have to leave the room to throw it out.

9. Try Footboard Storage

If your closet is on the small side and you’re not sure where to put those extra towels, blankets, sheets, and pillows, footboard storage is an easy fix. If you have the space, it’s the perfect place to store all these extra linens totally out of the way.
