Shiraz Nelson

Contributing Writer

Shiraz has been writing for home improvement publications for almost ten years, but with a lifelong history in the trades. He comes from a large family of contractors, growing up on scaffolding with tools in hand, learning everything from plumbing and electrical to concrete and roofing. Later in life, he took a different path, acquiring his master’s degree in writing. Putting the two together, he now attempts to demystify the homeowner and home improvement world, making ownership less stressful and more fun for the seasoned pro and the first-time homeowner alike. His current focus lies mainly in seeking to better understand the continually evolving world of sustainable building and improvement and passing that information on to his readers. Beyond that, he’s intensely interested in tiny home and mobile living construction.
