Every second, a homeowner turns to Angi to bring their home project from dream to reality. Our cost data is compiled using real costs from these home projects. After completing a project on Angi, we ask our customers to provide us with the price they paid for their project, which is then compiled to create our cost ranges.

What Data Is Collected

Our industry-leading cost data spans over 400 projects and more than 2 million reported costs. Our advanced data collection process goes through the following steps:

  • When completing their project, an Angi customer can submit the total amount they paid

  • We pair this information with their location, allowing us to provide national and local cost data from over 10,000 U.S. cities and towns

  • We remove outliers to ensure the most accurate data possible

  • Our project cost data is updated daily to reflect any new customer entries and updates live across our site

Fact-Checking and Quality Assurance

Our proprietary data is updated daily for validity and reliability. We use secondary research from reputable sources, including the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Remodeling Magazine’s Cost vs. Value report, academic journals, market studies, and interviews with industry experts.

We also have a panel of expert reviewers and our Pro Council to evaluate articles and cost data. Our Pro Council represents more than 200 years of experience in home services in industries including plumbing, home renovation, painting and drywall, landscaping, exterior work, and home inspections.

This additional level of review ensures that:

  • Our cost data and supporting figures are accurate

  • Outlier or out-of-date information is removed or revised

  • Tips and advice align with the broader Angi mission
