Jimmy Connor Hardwood Flooring

Good and bad. First when they put in my floor they did a fine job. However, after getting started taking up my old glued on parquet floor they realized it was more difficult than they thought - the young guy took up about 2 square feet up and quit. They revised their bid to put in a new subfloor and then disappeared from view. I was not able to get in touch with Mr. Conner for several weeks with multiple phone calls - he never answered or called me back. Finally in desperation (since I had the rest of the kitchen coming in), I took almost the whole floor up myself over a weekend with a sledge hammer and crow bar. My knees have been shot ever since (almost 2 years). And then they showed up like 2 days later as if nothing had happened and took up the subfloor in about 30 minutes. There was a second subfloor underneath so they didn't end up having to put in a new subfloor afterall They had the old subfloor gone and new planks put in in the time it took me to go to the dentists and back. It took them less than a day to finish the floor with quick drying stain and coat - Bona works wonders compared to the old method that took days of coating and drying. I recommend it! When I paid the bill I realized Mr. Conner had charged me for the subfloor he actually never had to put in. I called him several times to try to get adjusted and never heard back from him. If my math is correct, it was $600 extra charged for work they ended up not having to do (and PLUS, I was the one who did the hard part of taking up the glued on parquet - they didn't give me a discount for that back breaking work either. ) So in the end I love my floor and when they showed up they did a good job. However not happy with not getting my calls returned both when they left the job undone or when I had questions about the overpayment. So you decide!

Very good job overall. The refinished floors turned out extremely well and the new flooring is a match. I think the only thing I would have preferred to know in advance was that the thresholds and areas in which the floor boards met in the doorways would remain very rough and that there was no real fix or cover up for this. Although this was not the fault of the provider, I think I may have made a different decision had I known. Perhaps if you are considering this service it might make sense to ask to see a before and after or to ask the installer about the pro's and con's. Jimmy and his crew were very prompt and the quality of the work was good. They were very communicative and responsive.

Very professional job and excellent job was done on our hardwood floors by Jimmy Connor.  The installation crew arrived on time, was professional, attentive, and friendly.  The new and refinished floors look flawless - there are no sanding marks, installation errors, etc.  The quoted price was very competitive and was the price that we paid upon completion of the work.
Was very pleased working with the installation crew and the work result.  I would definitely recommend Jimmy Conner for any hardwood flooring installation and refinishing.  Will definitely use them again in the future!

He was very good with what he does. He is very knowledgeable and the people that worked for him are very courteous. It was a good experience. Our floor still looks good and it's been several years. I will highly recommend him.

Mr. Connor was friendly, communicative, prompt and left our house in great condition . We used him in another house previously and liked what he did so well that we called on him again. I would highly recommend him.

Before accepting Jimmy Connor's 2007 bid, we sought about 4 other quotes.  Jimmy's quote was not the lowest, however, because we have allergies, we wanted a minimal dust system.  
Jimmy was super professional.  He provided us with a written quote that was not "in the ball park" but pretty much a perfect estimate of the final cost.  He also invited us to see some of his work in real life and get an idea of what he could do for us.  His workmanship is excellent, he completed the project on the agreed time.  The low dust system is indeed recommendable, especially for open floor plans.   Jimmy uses Bona products which we have researched and seem to be very highly rated.  Even though in the  products are low VOC,  you will need to leave the house for a day or two if the area being worked on is large. His work in 2012 was a much smaller job, but Jimmy had the same level of commitment as for the larger one. The floors look great even after 6 years of heavy kids traffic.

They came on time when they said they would.  Great communication.  Excellent job and Excellent price.  I don't know how anyone could beat Jimmy Connor Hardwood floors.  Very Professional people from start to finish.
